Forrest – Feel The Need

Hey there, nightowls and vinyl lovers! Spin the dial back to the spring of ’83 with me for a second. Picture it: neon lights cutting through a sweet haze of dry ice, the bass hummed through the club floorboards, and the air crackled with pure, electrifying optimism. That was the magic moment Forrest dropped “Feel The Need,” and instantly, no one was sitting down.

Originally a 70s soul gem, Forrest Thomas took that classic melody and bathed it in pure early-80s synth magic. From the very first bright, bubbling keyboard hook, the track hits you like a warm wave of sunshine. The driving, post-disco bassline gets your pulse racing, but it’s Forrest’s incredible vocal performance that truly steals the show. His soul-drenched, smooth-as-silk voice floats effortlessly over those sparkling electronic textures, radiating an infectious joy that pulls you straight into the center of the dancefloor.

Decades later, “Feel The Need” remains an absolute masterclass in feel-good synth-pop.
