TALKBACK

A new formation!!!

A combination of a European and an American:
Evert VERHEES and Kevin MULLIGAN.

KEVIN MULLIGAN was born in 1952 in Kentucky (USA).
At the age of 18, he was admitted to the Berklee College of Music, the world-renowned jazz school in Boston.

There, he met Pierre van Dormael, and from then on, Belgium became his home base.

From Belgium, he worked with several well-known names in the jazz world:
Toots Thielemans, Nils-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Philip Catherine, John Lee, Gerry Brown, Bruno Castellucci, B.B. King.

He also made three LPs and gave numerous concerts with his own group: PASSPORT.

EVERT VERHEES was born in 1953 in Antwerp.

At the age of 8, he began learning piano, and by 9 he started taking guitar lessons.
At 13, he decided to fully dedicate himself to the guitar.
Between 1971 and 1975, he studied harmony and music history and focused on classical guitar at the Antwerp Conservatory.

However, already in 1972, he was playing bass in a rock-pop band called BANZAI.

It was during this time that Evert met Kevin Mulligan and Pierre van Dormael.
From 1977 onwards, he played together with Kevin in Dream Express.

In 1978, he recorded “Movie Music” with Toots Thielemans, and met Philip Catherine, with whom he played several concerts.
