FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY: “Gashes, Senses & Crossfire” (LP/CD Third Mind, UK import)
The Canadian artist Bill Leeb, who recently did a short tour in the Netherlands, has his roots in Skinny Puppy. This influence was clearly evident in his project Frontline Assembly, which has been around for several years now. However, this new LP is significantly more accessible than his previous releases, something he attributes to using a better studio. The album includes the 12″ “Digital Tension Dementia” (118 BPM), along with “No Limit” (119 BPM), both of which are among the most danceable tracks. Together with Michael Balch, Leeb has once again crafted an album that delivers nearly an hour of danceable and enjoyable listening.
