The DJ battle in Groningen (at Gdansk nightclub) on May 3rd was won by Leon Hartog from The Hague. In the final, he defeated Stephen Bruinsma. Both finalists were also present at the finals of the Dutch championships.
In Rotterdam, work is underway on the multimillion-dollar project "Tomorrowland": a massive transparent dome made of plastic on Prins Alexanderlaan by businessman and engineer Kees Veerhoek, where the most unique nightclub in the Netherlands will be set up. The Compact Disc is now truly breaking through, with a lot of classic dance material coming out. Almost all the old Motown work has been put on CD, and the quality improvement that came with it is truly incredible. The latest addition is "Songs in the Key of Life" and "Original Musiquarium," both by Stevie Wonder.

From the remix front: The Village People have re-released "Sex over the Phone." The tempo has been raised to BPM 126, and crucially, an intro and break have been added. Better late than never!
