FUNK FROM INDISC
Through Indisc, more and more long-forgotten funk and soul records are being released on vinyl and CD via the acclaimed Ace label!
The latest offerings include “Caught Up” by Millie Jackson with Muscle Shoals; the compilation “Get Up and Get Down” featuring 15 STAX tracks by artists such as Isaac Hayes, Dynamic Soul Machine, Bar-Keys, Dynamics, Inez Foxx, Fat Larry, and more; the excellent 1974 album “Keep on Steppin'” by the funky Fatback Band; and last but not least, an album by Funkadelic titled “Maggot Brain,” which has been fetching as much as £50 in England in recent months. Funkadelic is currently high on the charts thanks to De La Soul, who sampled their track “Knee-deep” for their hit “Me Myself and I.” Ace will be acquiring more from the Westbound catalog (Detroit Emeralds, Ohio Players, Denise LaSalle), so keep an eye out for these Indisc releases. Everything is also available on CD, for the first time, of course.
